Community Manager
We’re looking for a sharp, empathetic, culturally fluent Community Manager to help grow and shape the audience behind our studio and its original IPs. At Studio Ellipsis, we don’t just launch content… we build living worlds. That means the community isn’t an afterthought. It’s an integral part of the story.
You’ll help turn curiosity into engagement, and engagement into advocacy, across platforms, formats, and expressions. This is a hybrid creative-strategic role. You’ll need to think like a storyteller, act like a producer, and care like a fan.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and lead community strategies across games, digital experiences, and transmedia content.
- Be the voice, and ears, of the brand across Discord, X/Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and emerging platforms.
- Engage daily with our players, fans, and creators. Moderate conversation, surface insights, and amplify what matters.
- Translate lore and worldbuilding into ongoing interactive content that invites participation (polls, puzzles, dev diaries, behind-the-scenes drops, etc).
- Plan and execute community activations, early access programs, content drops, and IRL/URL events that feel earned, not marketed.
- Work closely with narrative, game, and brand teams to align timing, tone, and beats, ensuring that the community is always a step ahead, never lost in the fog.
- Track sentiment, flag risks, and build trust. Manage crises with clarity, integrity & speed.
- Identify and empower early advocates, creators, and superfans. Help them grow with us.
- Analyze community health and engagement metrics. Report with context and curiosity.
- Stay current on digital culture, online behavior, platform shifts, and community-led storytelling trends.
What You Bring:
- 3–5+ years of experience managing game or entertainment communities, preferably around original IP.
- Exceptional communication skills: sharp, human, and fluent across tones.
- Deep understanding of fandoms, niche cultures, and what makes communities stick.
- Hands-on experience with Discord, Reddit, and other core community platforms.
- Comfort managing technical or lore-rich projects without dumbing them down.
- Familiarity with live service, early access, or launch-phase products.
- Experience working with creative teams, understanding timing, leaks, and the dance between secrecy and hype.
- Crisis-resilient, detail-driven, emotionally intelligent.
- Bonus: experience supporting ARGs, lore-hunts, UGC campaigns, or narrative puzzles.
- Bonus: light design/video/editing chops for creating fast-turnaround content.
