Studio Ellipsis is a new game development studio based in Lisbon, working on an exciting PC-first title built with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Our team thrives on collaboration, creativity, and pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment. We are seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to help us scale our infrastructure, improve automation, and support the development pipeline.
Role Overview:
As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of
our game development and deployment processes. Working closely with the engineering
team and the Technical Director, you will help design and maintain scalable infrastructure,
automate workflows, and improve the efficiency of our continuous integration (CI) and
continuous delivery (CD) pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
● Help design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for UE5 game builds.
● Support and maintain build systems to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of game
builds.
● Automate and streamline processes, including testing, deployment, and infrastructure
management.
● Assist in maintaining the backend infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance,
scalability, and security.
● Collaborate with engineers to diagnose and resolve build, deployment, and
infrastructure issues.
● Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support team knowledge
sharing.
● Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging tools to enhance our DevOps
capabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent
practical experience.
● Basic understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Unreal Horde,
TeamCity).
● Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) and knowledge of
branching strategies.
● Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (e.g., C++/C#, Python).
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and fixing build
issues.
● Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced
environment.
● Passion for games and a willingness to learn Unreal Engine 5 development
workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Exposure to Unreal Engine 5 build processes (e.g., Unreal Build System, Unreal
Automation Tool).
● Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Unreal Horde.
● Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization
technologies (e.g., Docker).
● Understanding of monitoring and logging systems (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
● Previous experience in a game development or software engineering environment.
